π³οΈβπ WELCOME TO LAMBDA π³οΈβπ
We are the Lambda Alliance. We are an Employee Resource Group at Berkeley Lab that work to enhance the work environment at the lab for Sexual-orientation and Gender Minority (SGM) employees. We work to ensure an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, enhance policies of non-discrimination, increase visibility and awareness, and more! Everyone is welcome to join the Lambda Alliance, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or romantic orientation. We'd love to have you!
What is an employee resource group (ERG)?
ERGs are groups of employees with a shared characteristic or life experience who join together to advocate for themselves. Examples of these groups are African American, early career, and veterans, just to name a few. ERGS ensure that group members have a voice in their respective organizations.Β
At Berkeley Lab, our ERGs also allow employees to participate directly with our ongoing IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, accountability) initiatives and assist in fully integrating IDEA into the Lab's day-to-day business practices through strategic initiatives and policy-related goals.
Who can join?
Anyone can join, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or romantic orientation.
This sounds great. how can I help?
The first way to help is to attend our monthly meetings. That way you can keep track of what we are doing and what we will need volunteers for. Secondly, you can join the leadership team. We are always looking for more people to help out, especially around Pride Month. Please reach out to current leadership if that sounds like it would be something you would be interested in. Lastly, be kind to the people in your life that are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. Although, hopefully you didn't need a website to tell you to do that.Β
Standing ERG Meeting
The Lambda Alliance ERG meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 1-2pm PT. You can access the meeting via zoom (https://lbnl.zoom.us/j/92609028256) and when we meet in person, it will generally be in Building 50A, 5132 (Sessler).Β
